Getting There
First, print out the map and take it with you to show the taxi driver. It has directions in Thai:
++ Map in image format (21K GIF in new window)
++ Map in Adobe Acrobat format (491K PDF)
Taxi from the airport:
On arrival at the Airport, go down stairs to the public metered taxi booth. You pay the meter fare plus airport surcharge.
If you wish to take the toll way then this will be paid for by you. (It should cost approx. 100bt extra)
During rush hour (7am.-10am. and 3.30pm.-8.00pm.) This is a very worthwhile investment. Travel time during rush hour is about 40-60 minutes if you take the toll way, or can be up to 2 hours or more, on the public highway.
Bus from the airport:
Free shuttle from the Airport goes to the Bus Terminal. From here there are buses departing to all provinces in Thailand. The "Airporter" goes to to Khoasan Road where you can take a tuk tuk to Shanti.
If it your first time in Thailand, then we suggest you take a taxi from the airport direct to Shanti.
Less stressful.
